Has anyone had a look at the starlet power windows? or is it too hard becasue no one has them?

Most of us get a Starlet front cut which is only the dash forward, so no doors or windows to play with :(

Im planning to fit the starlet. I got a whole GT instead of a halfcut. Cheaper than what i was quoted for a halfcut as well.

Tricky, Don't suppose you can measure the diameter of the motor and the width of the gearbox on that setup for me?
:D

Harley,

Motor is 40mm in diameter, and the gearbox part is 85mm wide.

Cheers,
Tricky

tricky is there any way to install them so that there there isnt need to cut anything out? havent put any thought into it but i would assume there could be a recess where the motor could be mounted without cutting and without being in the way of the winder mechanism?

Possibly DT, but I thought the position I installed them was pretty good as it was only minimal cutting involved. The drive shafts are really quite flexible and can be bent nearly 180 degrees. I had other stuff going into the doors like speakers and central locking solenoids so space was at a premium.

Thanks Tricky, though I meant the thickness of the gearbox if that makes sense, possibly 20mm or so, would you mind checking?

I'm obviously playing around with all this stuff myself at the moment, with the central locking too, but the 60's lock technology makes it a little more difficult.
:D

Dan,

Unfortunately no!

The painter has now backed out of the deal as his boss wont let him do foreigners on the weekends - so the whole deal is off.

I have contacted another guy who Cam knows to see if he wants to take it on. Its kind of a blessing though as I can now get some of the outstanding items on my list out of the way.

Anyway, onward and upward.

Cheers,
Tricky

Dan,

Might hold you to that. Can you do something as complicated as what I was proposing?

Ok guys I will post an update Sunday when Cam drops over all the fabbed most of the alloy stuff, and we test fit for the last time.

But a quick 'heads up' for the interested - The Cat wont be at the Muster this year, wont be enough work done to make a huge difference from last year. I really wanted it painted so it would be a major and stark transition from last year. Apologies to all those who expected to see it in the flesh (although if you make enough noise, I will bring it).

A new spray painter has been identified and has been appointed, but wont be able to start the job until the end of September, early October (October most likely).

So, that's about it for a brief overview. Do I bring it???

Cheers,
Tricky
