Not doing a conversion but forced induction on my ‘65 panel van. In NSW has anyone had to make modifications to the door locks for engineering with to run a A\ A+ engine with forced induction?? Cheers

What changes has your engineer advised is required for the door locks?

Your engineer worried someone will steal it?! What a nice, caring engineer :)

Would be curious to see how that engineer wished to upgrade the door locks if your forced induction modification was on a Moke :-)

Do you mean door locks, or door latch?

I've heard of some people having to upgrade to burst proof latches on 60s minis, but not upgrade locks.

I know in Victoria its a requirement for replica vehicles to have burstproof catches (so things like fibreglass cobras or street rods) but if its an original car then it only needs to be as it was originally.
Usually power modifications have the requirement that brakes and suspension / drivetrain are upto the task, but body alterations are still left in their own category.

Burstproof latches don't help when the brittle cast iron hinges break. Door finished up on the road in my son's Clubby....
