Has anyone of does annone know if there has been a CA18 front wheel drive motor fitted to a Mini.

have not seen any, but there not much smaller then a sr20, probably better going one of them if you want NA....OR maybe a sr16 vvt 200hp stock :D

I have a NA ca18de in my exa, goes alright, but my 998 in betsy still beats it.

not worth it unless it was turbo. my silvia had a turbo ca18 and it ripped sh#t :D

It is found in japanese 2 door pulsars,, it is a ball tearer of an engine, maybe better then 1.6L from hondas. there is info on the net, try google.

A Mate of Mine that lives down the road Build E15 engines for the Litre Sprint cars I was going to look at one of those and see if it will fit.

From memory the Sr16ve puts out slightly less power than the b16b, but slightly more torque, all at a few hundred less rpms. The N1 version of the sr16ve is a beast though, nealry 200hp, but this is a rare engine in japan, let alone here. A b16a would be a better option, not quite as powerful as the b16b or sr16ve, but they were available here and there are a ton of aftermarket bits for them. They're also somewhat more reliable than the nissan equivilent, plus its been done before, although if you're after something unique then an sr16 would be a good option. I'd try and steer clear of the ca18 though, it's a decent engine, but it had issues at the best of times.
