Does anyone known if it has been done in Australia without have Motor sticking out of bonnett. I've seen the V8 Ute in Street Machine. I was thinking some smaller like 13B, or Small four banger (CA18). |

I think i've seen it done, don't think it was in Aus, though. It was a 4AGE engine in the front, RWD. It would be easier to put the engine in the back, aswell, MR2 style. Get FWD Pulsar running gear if ya want CA18. |

Cheers. I am trying to find out where I can get info on a set up to use.. I would like to keep motor in the front. rather than the new craze of mid engined minis. Thanks again. |

I think in most cases the transmition tunnel needs to be widened so this makes it major modifications which makes it easier to put the engine in the back. There has been a AWD mini ute in Europe somewhere he had really good pictures and documented build up but I can't find the link ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The AWD Mini is here: http://www.ringmini.de/English_Version/My_Minis/my_minis.html This is also worth a look: http://www.v6mini.co.uk/ All the bike engined minis I've seen are rear or mid mounted, except for that crazy twin R1 engined street legal racer in the UK - one in the front, one in the rear! ![]() |

![]() There was a pommy forum 16vmini or something which was talking about some front wheel drive front mounted motor bike engined minis, they had both the rear mounted rear wheel drives and the front mounted front wheel drives on a track at the same time and apparently the front wheel drives won out in most cases. ![]() Obvious caveats on the drivers skill, the tyres, the setup, etc etc |

well if you have a spare 15000 pounds and want seriouse power to weight in the region of 400bhp per tonne, then i would spend it on the new z cars complete fibreglass mini with hayabusa power, 150 bhp now, but it will get a 300 hp conversion soon, its featured in my latest edition of track and race cars, and my god, what a beast! |

i have seen the bike minis, talked to a guy at holeshot racing in pommy land. reckons his used to pop the front wheels off the deck through first and second. i would like to build a pick up with rotary power, front engine rear wheel drive. quite a task but will be one of a kind, i hope. |
