its going into my delux shell which is in great condition needs a paint job very little rust and is straight just a rolling shell at the moment
i would have loved to have found a van but none around this area for a price that suits so in there it will go
plan is to get minor rust and panel repaired then paint myself at this stage get frame made up sort brakes suspension put it all together
i want it fairly retro looking but with modern power so maybe british racing green with white roof and im thinking 12 by 5s just for ease of brakes and to help the gearing a little on the highway se
some comfy seats and just speedo and taco
maybe hiden small sound system and thats it
easy hey
but at least i have some sort a plan :P

This is quite amusing... I also have very similar plans. I have a 68 Deluxe, British racing green/White roof, 12 inch perfomance superlights, and also have a Gti engine sitting in the corner waiting :) Looks like there will be a few very similar Gti minis around..

Hopefully i am setting the date for car painted everything done and engine in by christmas next year i want to have it on road by xmas 2006
SOOOOOOOOOO time to get cracking i quess

yeah i am fairly certain on the colour i would consider another classic combo like white with burgandy roof but i want something that is fairly retro and classic

Suzukis Vs the Starlet hey

mnnm i dont think i would like to do a drag strip day against them lol but yeah it should be good fun and more importantly its re enthused me as after my welder and tools got stolen i was kinda sick of it all so didnt go near the garage but yeah i am amped

the first thing I have to do is get the engine mounts.
the GTi mounts are not ideal, so I am sourcing others from the wreckers.

"Gearbox is Barina/Swift 90-94 gearbox mount
Rear eng is Ford Laser KC/KE 85-90 or Mazda 323 BF
87-89 part no MT8121
(You will have to press it out of it's mount & rotate the
rubber to get the load direction correct)
Front is Mazda 808 72-78 part no MT8135"
thats from Ron Bailey..

I would hold out for an aftermarket ecu. I picked up mine for $400. Means you will do away with the majority of that spiders web (loom) you've got.
