How would you set up reverse ??? I would think the rest of it could be done with the usual headaches. Dan |

They are areasonably common conversion in the UK there is a company there that does either Yamaha R1 or hyabusa or turbo hyabusa engined minis. I think the problem with bike engine conversions is getting a reverse but there are ways around it ie electric engine for reverse etc... http://www.zcars.org.uk/mini/mini-single.htm There was also quite a bit on the 16vmini or something similar forum in the UK Oops simultaneous posting reverse can also be done by a sort of second gearbox I think which would give you 5 reverses I guess Maybe you could find one of those enormous touring type bikes some of which have a reverse AFAIK. |

yeah initially i thought reverse would be the main problem...but have heard that getting a reverse gear for a bike engine isnt really that hard... i dont wanna pay like 20,000 pounds for the conversion...if it were possible i'd wanna do alot of it myself...as long as i dont have to cut the body up much...i can weld...and could probably work something out in terms of a front subframe with some engineering help from a REAL engineer...does anyone know anybody in AU who's done or has any experience in doing a hayabusa conversion? |

So you've seen the light then? Before you go and get all excited about doing it, consider that you would have two chances in hell of getting a rear-wheel driven mini registered in Oz. |

Can be done You will need to comply with the all the new rules, as my new engineer has advised me. Fortunately mine will now be a CBU Moke Utility - so many more loopholes with commercial vehicles |

this mod requires extreme body modifications. but all minis should have come with one of those.. ****** unbelieveable. |

extreme modification yes...but its just a hole in the back really i am more interested in a custom subframe to fit one to the front actually... |
