howdie all, managed to get the engine out of my frontcut on the weekend...its a little more cut than it was before...i ended up unbolting the sway bar and the whole plate that attached the rear engine mount to the underside of the car...it came out easily enough...had to perform surgery and remove most of the driver's side corner (everything forward of the driver's side engine mount). should hopefully be able to take measurements off the engine itself...rather than the frontcut.

PS. Thanks Andrew for the substitute engine hook thing...works a charm!

Looks so familiar.

I got rid of my half cut as soon as i had stripped it bare. You wont need it, it is just a waste of space.

really? its good to know its possible to do it without the frontcut coz there really is zero room in there to work on the subframe...i've got stuff stowed everywhere...wiring loom ontop of the sofa...the sofa itself is festooned with bits of the engine as well as stuff just generally stacked all over the place...more room would be so damn sweet...

Sh*t-can the sofa and buy some shelving.

haha thanks makka :D you make me

Who would have thought the day i went to measure the halfcut up in 98 and payed my money for it without even knowing if it was going to fit or work would lead to over 10 other people trying to do the same thing.
