why would you want a normal spanner/socket set when you could have metrinch? are there any instances where you cant use a metrinch spanner? it would seem to be better in all ways...it works on rounded nuts too...i just cant think why a normal set would be preferably over a metrinch set...i love my new metrinch spanner...only got 1 but i am seriously thinking of investing in a full socket set...metrinch converts unite! |

What size metrinch do you have? It may help me remove the pesky 12/14mm nut that is currently giving me the irates. Damn support bracket for the cat converter is getting in the way. I may even let you come around to check out Striped, so long as you bring it with. JC |

Whatever floats your boat. I find it's a sh*tload easier & cheaper to weld a nut on if I round off a bolt head etc. |

well they are a pina when you have a confined space to do up a bolt/nut. you have to turn it that much more before it bites. when you only can move the thing a flat at a time you can't use a metrinch spanner. I would imagine that fitting these engines in the small engine bays plus all the other stuff you would have alot of cramped spaces. |

they are a great emergency kit i guess. check out your Bunnings stores, cuz if they have any left, they are a deleted line, so you would get a great deal on them. give me a peripheral drive socket anyday. the metrinch shows its inefficiency in its name. if it is to fit the 2 met and imp sizes, one is always going to be slacker than the other, and not work as well. keep a few "standard" sizes in them for those rounded off peices of crap bolts that make you wanna burn your car... stick with a proven method mate, you'll thank yourself in the long run. |

keep a few "standard" sizes in them for those rounded off peices of crap bolts that make you wanna burn your car... stick with a proven method mate, you'll thank yourself in the long run. well i've got a standard socket set and a standard spanner set...they have served me well for many a year...no plan to get rid of them at this stage...but i was pretty pleased with how well the metrinch spanner worked getting the rounded nut off...and couldnt see a huge difference in performance when using it on non-rounded nuts/bolts either...still wondering if i should invest in a full set of metrinch...although 4efte nuts are either 10mm, 12mm, 14mm or 17mm...so it doesnt really matter i guess...could just get those 4 for emergencies... |

I have a set of their spanners and would not change them for anything else  I hit them with hammers I stand on them ( I am 100+kg) none have bent cracked or even lost chrome. I have had them for about 3 or 4 years.
Yes they won't swing aswell in tight spots but you just use the next size down and use the flats in the front of them like a normal spanner. these are the ones I have
