Ok well the whole Starlet GT mini idea has gone  oh well i sold the 1/2 cut to Minimarfia and i am looking to do a RWD Mini not to get on the road but just for a basher to drive around down at my shack  yeah should be fun

I was just wondering if any one has done this conversion be fore and yes i have Googled it and have come up with a few but nothing that i can find that would suit my budget  but yes i am looking for an easy engine like out of a old corolla like an 82 or so so its easy to work on and easy to maintain, could any one help me and tell me if there would be any other engines that would be easy to come by lol this is in tasmania so yeah, any input would be handy :D

cheers guys

4efte would be good :) if yer going rwd then almost anything is possible...with enuff work...east/west mounted engines are preferable...or a mid-mounted engine like the MR2 one...

Well twini minis put mini engines in the back to drive the rear wheels....

Uses a modified front subframe. and just use the mini engine.

That's iff al you want is a rear wheel drive mini

Most longitudinally mounted 4cyl engines will be too long even for a clubby bonnet. Being a flat-4, the subaru might fit.Otherwise go rotary!

Oh, and there is no RWD setup for subies - only FWD/AWD/4WD.
Just get an AWD or old 4WD box & don't use the front outputs.

Why a tail shaft?

If it isn't a transverse mounted engine you will probably have to cut the begezzus outta your floor pan to get the gearbox in and if it is a transverse engine it's probably a front wheel drive anyway :x

Someone PMed me after a dead Datto 1200 ute to chop up and put a mini body on
We wanted it for spares
