The new NCOP for vehicle mods:
NA motor - capacity in cc up to 3x the original vehicle mass in kg
turbo motor - capacity in cc up to 2x the original vehicle mass in kg

So for a 660kg mini (some are more, some less)
NA - up to 1980cc
turbo - up to 1320cc

Short answer is: you won't get it rego'd :(

just register it NA and then turbo it :P
kinda sucks that it has to be original vehicle mass...otherwise just stick a few lead ingots in the boot and you got yerself a temporary commodore (weight wise anyway)..

interestingly enough that actually means the starlet gt (4efte) is too big @ 1331cc :P but as you say "some are more...some are less"

you'll need to modify the driveshafts...no matter what you do...if you are fitting a modern engine...

i realise i will have to modify the driveshafts ... if i dont the cv joints will be loaded too much and end up looking like putty hahaha.... how hard is the 4efte conversion?? just if u know off hand haha... the reason for thwe thread on the 1,5 is i already have the engine leftover from a previous project ( et pulsar now sr20)

hmmm.... very enlightening :)

It states in the rta regs that it has to be the origional tare weight of the car.. Not the finished weight...

I'm not sure you'll find anyone on this forum that has attempted it. Am I right in thinking that the ET Pulsar shares the same motor with the Holden Camira? That in itself would be enough of a deterrent.

Not putting crap on you. Just would be of the opinion there are more 'attractive' transplant options available.
