just wondering, when you do a vtec conversion can you use the drive shafts off the vtec half cut if you bought one and use the brakes and things off it or do you have to get the drive shafts modified or not at all? |

I would imagine that the standard drive shafts would be way to long for the mini track. All the ones I've seen (only seen on the web) and heard about used custom made drive shafts, or a combo of Mini and Honda. I don't think you could use the brakes unless you were going to use 15" wheels, but you would need to check. You take the honda shafts that fit in the honda engine, then cut and repline them to suit the track and mini CV...rest is all mini.. |

You could use the brakes too. Could be an opportunity to save some cash as you'll be spending quite a bit..... |

would they be to long if i where to use the shafts and the honda brakes do i have to get them shortened if so can you already buy them or do you have to send them away to get done |

The track would be far too wide for a mini.. Yes you have to send them away to get them replined..they are all different as every engine is in a different position with a custom subframe and you need the shafts made to length. It would take a significant amount of work to make the honda brakes work, Anything is possible though. |

No less than modifying the subframe, gearchanger, clutch, fuel bla bla bla....... Not hard at all to make a backing plate and a spacer really. |

I'm with Striped on this one---> I was thinking of using the Toyota Starlet Rotors. I haven't had much of a look at them. but Considering I am doing everything else and Metro Rotors are a pain in the ar$e. (Too much, too rare, fully imported) hell I will give them a shot cause they are otherwise throw away's on the 1/2 cut. They have ABS, and I would really like to give fitting that a go. |
