Integra's have always been 1.8L B18's...bigger than the 1.6L Civic engine B16..

There are a few B18 powered mini's out there though..

is there not a B16 version in Japan....? in any case, the B16 is the same as the Civic VTEC, so yeah, it can be done

If you're shooting for the B18 motor, then check you're not over the capacity limit - I forget what the rule is

You will need to check which Integra you get. The LS,RS and DS are all non VTEC and have the B18A and B18B motors, which means power is only approx 140hp. The one you want is B18C3 which is out of a Type R integra. That one is pushing 200hp stock. Only problem is that they are hard to find and are gonna be pretty expensive.

good point to consider is that 140 hp is actually a lot in a mini
like a lot 200hp is a little over kill for a road car and even for a weekend fun car 140 is great

i understand 140 is a fair bit. The honda conversions rumored to be reasonably heavy over stock. :(

I think 140 for the money isn't good bang for bucks and :? :?

everything sounds fast originally then you get used to it!!!!! I don't think it will be too long before your putting more mods in it

There wouldn't be much point putting in a non-VTEC integra engine that has 140hp, when you could put the smaller B16A engine with VTEC in and have 160-170hp stock. or B16B with 190hp.

Putting in the B16 in is the more popular option, but even then you probably need to extend the front 90mm. As far as i can tell the B18 conversion is also a very tight height wise. I think the B16 weighs around 140kg, is that lighter than an A series?

If you had the integra already or could get one cheap, you may want to look into buying a B16 head and putting it on. You get the high-torque bottom end and mate it to a high-flow B16 top end to make a very powerful combination.

U guys are talking flywheel Hp right??? :?

The Honda engine/box is a heavy unit, combined weight is about 100 kilo more than the A series engine and box which while it may be a steel engine is quite light, as for how much power well there is only so much power one can use in a front drive set up and any more is a waste :D

Ummm a Waste?

yes a waste, they used to say that around 2230-240 was all that a front drive could use and with most of these conversions because of the different lenght of driveshafts torque steer is a major problem and traction is also limited, have a look at some of the fancy electronics used in the really modern front drive cars that limit the amount of HP they have depending on which gear the car is in.

There comes a time when more HP is a waste and its better to try and loose some of the mass of the vehicle

I agree front wheel drives have their limits I used to have a modded 2.2ltr Tx5 turbo (large TURBO etc) with massive midrange torque and soon as boost came in 1st or 2nd gear it used to fry up the tyres. It was interesting in the wet too when 4th gear broke traction
Although for drag or track a good suspension set up and slicks will help with putting the power down 8)
