I know he is a member on here (not Con, but the bloke that bought it off Con) and this might crap him but I would want a hell of alot more for $22k. e.g Nice seats, blinged up interior, aftermarket ECU. |

If I had the luxuary of money not being an object etc etc... I stil would buy that I'd want leather bucket seats chameleon paint job and a few more bling gauges. Then and only then could I say its worth over 20K |

Well in the end I think its worth bloody 20k I think the convenience & no hassles of a complete conversion is deffinatly worth the Dosh... NO Engineering hassles.. Just hop in & BURN Rubber... |

Well I must admit I would probably want a bit more for $22K but as someone who built from scratch I guess you probably want to add a $$ to the "actual" cost of the conversion, just to make up for the skinned knuckles, blood, tears etc. I think if I ever sold mine I would probably want to go for at least $15K but equally I would probably jazz the interior at least (has the bling seats!). Body prep & paint on this car is show standard. I think it's a reasonable ask. Would cost you far more to pay to get a mini built to this level ![]() |

you know what they say guys aim high. ![]() umm im still spending. lol. just got Haltech E6X ECU. umm chasing down a new manifold, to suit much larger throttle body. LSD is next to come from the USA. its also got all my stereo gear out of my old Clubby, so nice head unit, sub, amp, speakers. funny seats were mentioned, as I was about to ask what seats people would recommend. after something small, but that hug nicely. cars also getting all new cones, all four corners. I don't actually expect 22k for it but it is hard to barter upwards. ![]() |

I think its worth the 22K. If I wanted a mini like that and did not have the skills to build my own, i would pay that amount for an excellent example. Dan |

yeah well i know this will piss a lot of people off but i challenge anyone to build an A series engine that will perform like this thing and not add up receipts past 30 k and thats just the engine for what it is its good little pocket rocket off a mini looks good and has lots going for it |

for what it is its good little pocket rocket off a mini looks good and has lots going for it Mate you are MISSING THE POINT. These engine conversions are in a totally different league of their own. People are doing the conversions for whatever reasons - be they to get better fuel economy and reliability, sick of the A-series motor, or to get that initial LARGE power increase ove the A-series. |

yeah i know i think you missunderstood my poiny i am myself doing a conversion similar and when selling or purchasing something i would look for value for money and in the terms of a vehicle that may be fuel economy, speed, looks, commfort whatever and this mini will hands down beat many many other minis around the place and many of these minis are priced similarly my point with the A series engine was just that i would rather this car then a mini which had 20-30 ks spent on the engine and then similar amounts spent elsewhere i still dont think i explained that well ![]() but yeah if i were someone wanting a good allround vehicle that looked unique this would be good value compared to some of the Aseries minis for sale ill shut up now ![]() |

if your after fuel economy buy a hybrid car. you can have your 4 litres per 100 k's or what ever they get. although, even with the work that has been done to this motor, the amount you would have to spend on an a series to get close, i still managed 627km off my last tank. so i dont think 600+km's from under 33 litres is that bad. i know it seems expensive, but thats cause people are looking at it as one amount. Im sure if you all added up what you had spent on buying separate bits over the years then you'd all shock yourselves. build an A series motor with over 100hp atw then see what the total cost is. then have rust removal (if any) painted, deseamed, done to the car. complete interior, (door handles, carpets, seating). wheels, adjustable suspension, all the fruit. then add Aftermarket ECU, 1500 bucks worth. plus install. the motor hasnt even done 5000km's since rebuild. it all adds up. ![]() |
