hi guys, i was woudering if anyone new how much a enginering certificate costs for a engine conversion! beacause im just weighing up if its worth doing or sticking with my mini motor! cheers! |

I paid $900 all up for my which included inspections and final report etc. It varies but this is pretty ballpark... |

I know it's not good and I'm not supporting it.. but there are a few engineers out there that will charge you more.. but will let a few things slide and turn a blind eye to a few things.. For engineering a turbo charged corolla, and a few other things (seats, guages, etc) a bloke I know paid $1600 for it. That's no custom subframe or engine swaps or anything. |

Go with someone who knows there stuff (who has been recommended to you), no one else on the road would want to be driving around in a death trap, not even you (i imagine). Your paying for someone's time to look at these things. I have heard between $1000 and $2000 (depending on show serious the mods are, whether they have to x-ray welds and stuff) but I have heard some as low as $700 but I guess it depends where you go. Theres another thread getting around some where about engineering certificates as well. |
