Don't quote me but I think you are talking about the new unified national code that this being introduced by DOTARS. Strictly speaking it has to be ratified (accpeted) by each state and territory but I dare say this will be a formality. Here is the link: http://www.dotars.gov.au/transport/safety/road/bulletin/vsb_ncop.aspx Read it a while back alot hasn't changed from the NSW laws though some are stricter... Cheers Matt |

If that is right then there is no problem with a 1.3L turbo in a mini |

The new regs were in NSW as of the Jan this year and also in Vic the other states have yet to accept them, the rules of engine changes has not changed in these new regs, its still the same as it has been for a few years now it might just be mr enforcers engineer is not prepared to signoff on them anymore, they do get funny from time to time ![]() using there rules a mini would be able to have a 1700cc turbo engine or there abouts or a 2100cc NA engine Jon |

I dont think the 4EFTE passed ADR emissions anymore. I had a look at them for another project and thats what I was told. I didnt think it p/w related. |

When putting one of these engines in a mini it only has to pass the ADR emissions of the engine date, it only has to pass current tests when you place it in a ICV like a clubman sportscar then it is considered anew car not a modified vehicle ![]() Jon |
