Well guys finally finished installing the bits an pieces to do with the new turbo (KKR 280). So RRFPR, Custom headers, intake and intercooler pipes, and BOV. Took her for a spin last week and spun wheels in third, took off like a rocket. Was running rich and backfiring but with the installation of the Bov seems to be running very sweet. Dyno probably Monday, will let you know how she goes.

Anyway some pics...

Hi Matt,

Looks fantastic. You fitted that BOV in no time at all. You will find that the BOV in that position while provide noticeable improvements in throttle response.

Tell me, what is it that they 'Tune' on the dyno if you've got a factory ECU? Is it just the timing?

JC

Thanks guys yeah got it done in a couple of days and still spent time with the bub  8) . As for the tune, I am mainly wanting them to set the RRFPR correctly so I am getting a decent AFR through the rev range. As you say the other tuning possible is the timing, the rest is pretty static with a standard ECU. Maybe if I get a good tax return next year that will be the next mod. Still she goes like the powers of p*** right now.

I have already started buying shares in Yokohama...

Cheers

Matt

Excellent stuff Matt, excellent!!

When they look up the DIY in the Oxford Dictionary, it will say 'See Matt Power'.

I take my hat off to you sir - awesome job, with the results to match.

Now, go and spend some time with your new family.

Cheers,
Tricky

He who has the most courage, brakes last.

Anyway - Wasn't it going on the Dyno Friday Matt? I think the guestimates were

(Without the benefit of hindsight)
Tricky - 35% increase, so 95hp x 35% = 128.25hp atw.
JC - 146hp atw.
Brad - 140hp atw.

I'm the highest of the three and I reckon my estimate will be WELL short of the result.

Have you got something to adjust air fuel ratios Matt?

JC

Well finally got it to the dyno, unfortunately it was a fairly rudimentary dyno so no sheet. I will take it to Jake's Performance in Mitchell (they have a dyno dynamics dyno). Still the news is that on 14 psi it put out 160 atw wheels but unfortunately this was limited to 5500rpm because there were no tiedowns and when it really came on boost it would jump sideways. So I figure 165 - 170 if taken to redline? But either way at 160 I am more than happy and the thing is a monster when boost comes on so...

Cheers

Matt
