I reckon it's "too much" for the average Joe, and wanna-be.

$5-$10k depending on how much you do yourself.

My ENGINE CONVERSION will owe me less than $3k but generally you will be upgrading brakes and suspension at the same time.

Just remember if you were putting a bigger/more powerful mini motor in you wouldn't add the cost of brakes/suspension to the 'motor' component.

I hit 10k long ago, but i have replaced everything and gone with new parts with just about everything i've touched..

You could get the engine in for under 3k (i did) but i would not expect it possible for that by the average joe either as they would be paying someone to do it..

Most people when they say engine conversion aren't thinking bare bones, there is a lot of stuff that i think goes along with having that much extra power such as brakes and suspension that should be factored in..

Look at how much Dean (Baracade) has spent $$$$$, then look how much Paul (gzeVan) has spent $..i think these are the two extremes..

Run standard metro 4pots with standard turbo and factory ECU and you will save a lot of money.

<edit> put your location in...

Mr. Enforcer does a conversion for around 10k i think, but that's with you supplying the half cut and you will also need to add vented brakes into the cost. I would think with all the little bits it'd easily blow out to 15k.

Well seriously it's all as much as your prepared to spend I have sunk more than 10 into this mini and I havent even started (really nothing much). People like Dean and Josh and people buying new turbo's and intercoolers and making big modifications are paying much higher prices. I have done everything myself and that's the way I plan on doing it, but if you pay for someone else to do it expect to pay for it. I would say that for a Honda or Toyota motor 10K-15K But the skies the limit. I could spend 200K if I had it on mine, but jeez it would look soo tidy and go like a rocketship

you could easily spend 10k+ on an a-series mini also.
