Hi,

There is a place in US which sells the preassmbled Honda Engine Package for $US10,145 = $AUS13,019.7683:

http://www.superfastminis.com/honda_engine_package.htm

Is it worthwhile to get it here and let Mr Enforcer to put it on. Will there be any good saings from doing this rather than asking Enforcer to do the whole thing?

Also if I get this package, how many % of the mechanical/wiring work has been done and what would be the remaining to do? I mean what are the other technical things left to do?

Thanks
Ben

well... given that Mr Enforcer offers a 4EFTE drive in-drive out for around the AUD$10K mark, I'd say it'll cost you substantially more to import this gear from USA..... and expect $1K+ in freight to bring it in, and pay GST on the import, and you'll have to get the sheet metal work done if it needs the front extended, and wiring it up to a dash, setting up an exhaust, and and and....

I'd assume Mr Enforcer would charge you a couple of grand at least to install it - but you'd have to ask them

ask that mob how much else needs to be done to install their kit in a mini and have it driving, I bet it's a lot...

not worth it IMHO

Hi,

I assume the starlet engine + box is not included in the around-$10K -package.

I rang him yesterday, waiting for his e-mail.

I bet that Honda package is for a LHD Mini.
Be careful fitting Hondas to a RHD Mini, in many cases they say the diff housing fouls the rack- meaning either the rack and toeboard needs to move back 40mm into the car, or the front guards need to be made longer.

Hate to see you spend A$13 large on bits and find it won't fit.:(

Also, you might want to watch the track, apparently a couple of guys in VIC have had trouble with their VTEC kit because the track had increased too much.

There is a company in the UK who make kits for VTEC conversions. As they drive on the same side of the road as us, you could assume that clearances would be taken care of.

... and the UK kit (Watson's) needs the body lengthened at the front, at least all the info I've read and pics I've seen say so.
And it's not just a case of using a Clubby body instead, the room in there low down where the subframe sits is the same as in a roundy.
Same subframe.

I've had a look at that website before and they do state that the kit is for both LHD and RHD. Also should note that the kit includes the engine mounted with full front suspension and brakes. So it should only be a case of bolting it straight on (aye, that easy haha).

They do also say that the nose needs to be lengthened by about 4 inches, or buy one of their pop up body kits. Nothing about the tracking issue though.
