Good option

Get billet ones made.

Cheaper option

Turn the Toyota ones down and get a mini spline put on the end. You might like to get them rehardended after that. Price this option up as you might find billet ones aren't that much more expensive (note you can sell the toyota ones to make up the difference in price).

Don't do's

DO NOT cut and weld the toyota shaft to the mini shaft.

yeah welding it a really bad idea.

billet ones are good, but don't pay too much. Shop around.

some machining places will ask you to bring the car in with the engine and hubs in place, and they'll do the measurements. This is the better way of doing it cause they know that they'll fit. Just remember they need to accommodate a full range of suspension travel and a bit more to be on the safe side

I'm amazed if it happened without lengthening the front end. Pics please! :D

The toyota shafts are extremly hard and you will find that most tooling shops will actually have to soften your shaft first. You will then have to get them hardened and this is what will cost you $$ to do properly.

A couple of us here are about to test out how good the modified toyota shafts are

Thanks for the reponses

I'd be interested on any prices that people have been quoted - I'd hate to be shafted!!!!!.

My mate was quoted $900 - I think that was for 2 new shafts.

MOKE - he has extended the nose - hard to spot!!!!
I will get some pics when it is in the bay

Cheers
