It's a swap I've considered for a while. Compact litlle 1275cc motor and there is a 930cc supercharged and turbo variant available too.

yeh they seem to be a tuff little motor. I have not had a chance to measure one up but the pics i've seen over the net they look pretty compact. Put a nice turbo combo on it and i can see it matching a 4efte. Looks like a mini sr20 with that head too haha.

There's a mostly complete Micra with minor front end damage in the local wreckers. It's been temping me for months.

hey brett, they seem like a decent swap but i havent seen a gearbox yet as this ones an auto

upside: :D its all alloy, quite a compact head width and the water pump is close to the block

Down side:  the oil filter is at the back of the block (firewall side)

does anyone know if they are rod or cable shift + hyrdo or cable clutch

The one in the local yard is on top of another car. I can go and check out the gear linkage and clutch if you like.

Remote mounting the oil filter may be an option.

Cheers,

What does it matter that the oil filter is on the other side? Doesn't tjat mean that it can be hidden along with the starter motor, surely the oil filter wont poke out that much....

we tried a n12 pulsar gearbox today and would you belive it fits :o and its very small but was run behind motors up to 1.6 so it should be strong , he also had 4 in stock so they seem very common and cheap 8)

also a n16 flywheel fitted too 8) isnt it cool when everything is interchangable

the whole engine and box measured up at 74cm long which will fit nice

cheers Paul
