hey guys just a couple of question.. Are all year models of minis the same to do the conversion or would they be different? Cause i dont own one (yet) i havent read alot about the engine bay specifications, would every different year model mini have a different sub frame (of course they would for the different size motors or am i wrong about this?) but what if the motors where the same would they still be different? And which one have you found easiest to convert to the 4efte? |

All manual minis have the same subframe and all automatic mini's have the same subframe except rover mini's their subframes are mounted slightly different using rubber mounts. Easiest Conversion would be into a Clubman fronted mini because these have more room. |

Go the clubman, even if you dont like the looks of it think of the extra room you get. After only working on my roundnose then getting a clubman i felt like getting binoculars out to find the engine hiding inside. |

Try and find a manual, as i believe the mountings are different between manual and auto subframes(very welcome to be corrected). And everyone has gone the manual subframe route before so theres more help availabke. |

The Auto subframe is about 20-25mm wider across the mounts, moves the engine slightly forward and has more room at the front. But all the bits that make an Auto subframe unique would most likely be cut off anyway. So it really makes no difference which one you start with. Cheers, |

Cheers, The auto subframes here were all hydro ones. But you can stick rubber cones in them with a bit of minor butchery. Not that I would.... ![]() |
