niffty type of auto trans if you ask me Yeah, the K11 (second gen) had an optional Continuously Variable Transmission thing (endless gears, like those horrible plastic scooters  )
I'm the (not so) proud owner of a K10 Micra - no way I would put that engine in any Mini  (it's a 1256-ish cc engine pulling 56 horses)...

Yes, I think so too. If anything the front end is reminiscent of the Clubmans. Don't forget there was a Jap import 970cc version of the K10 carlled the "March" with a Turbo and Supercharger. 
There is at least one Mini in Victoria running the K11 1275cc engine. No powerhouse, but arguably more reliable than the A series, with the added benefit of 5 speeds. Cheers, |

)I drove one of these things around Europe a few years ago, it's AWFUL. With a manual it might have been passable, but the CVVT was truly dreadful. Worst car I've driven in a long time. |

There is a guy in Trinidad (but posts on The Mini Forum UK) that has done several Micra conversions. He used a MA10 engine (1.0L Carby) from an 88 Micra but also a CG13DE (in K11 Micrra - as delivered in Australia). See his main thread here http://www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=57644 - you will need to be a member to view the pics though. Best thing about this conversion is from the looks of it, you don't need to completely hack off the sides of the Mini subframe away to fit the engine = Less custom tube/steel subframe work. |

Yeah i read that tread. Even emailed the dude in Trinidad to see if he would put together a simple build manual but he wasnt interested. Shame though his work LOOKS neat. Seems to be fairly straight forward. Not to many engine bay mods and it retains the important fixing points of the front sub. Hmm turbo and supercharger!!!

Hi, I think it was built by Lindsay Siebler of Minis Plus, but not 100% certain. It was someone well knwon to VMCI if it wasn't him, who has their own business. The conversation was about five years ago. I asked if he'd build another one, but he said no. BTW: There's was a donor K11 with front end stack and 140,000km on it in a Hoppers Crossing wreckers a few months back. Cheers, |

I have a cg13de sitting in my shed, ive been on the lookout for a n12 exa box for it as its smaller externally than the micra box and comes with limited slip or even a n13 viscous would be ok, I dont have much more info as it would be another year before I install it |
