Spent a fair bit of time looking at the Aussieracing cars at the Clipsal500 this weekend.

Bike motor north south running a prop shaft to the offset diff...

Anyone for a LHD mini?... just need to practice my welding skills, build a spaceframe and find a 'friendly' engineer!

The Aussie Legends are 120Hp & weigh 450kgs & have a "Horrible" steering system

Yep, FJ1200 engine running a solid propshaft to a Corolla orCelica diff.

Mid-mount would be a better arrangement!

Yep, my Black sports sedan mini is getting Turbo charged Hyabusa donk ,,,

Mid-Engined,,,rear drive

it should be some-what like an over powered go-Kart on steroids

Kenno,,, the turbo Al;oy V8 "WAS" in the black sports sedan & was meant to stay there,,, but CAMS made new rules introducing weight restrictions for "Sports-sedans",,, what a totally dumb thing to do

anyways,,, that throws out my lightweight mini sports sedan idea cause the new rule suggests that i would need to add another 400+ kgs into the car for it to be elligable///--->stuff that

so that alloy V8 donk is now in the front of one of our speedway minis, but the turbo chrager & all the manifolding etc is going onto another alloy V8 sitting in our 1948 model Packard :-)

Soooo the black sports sedan was going to get a turbo twin cam 16v donk, but i`ve relegated that donk to the Monaco fast-back & simply because i absolutely """LOVE""" my R1 buggy,,,,, well it`s only natural that i build something abit quicker again,,,& this time with some more traction :-) Hence the turbo charged Hyabusa,,,

but a little "Out of the Ordin-Hairy"---> something a little special,,,---> something a little different---> we`re looking at (trying) to make it 400hp,,, 400kgs,,, & 4wd :-)

yes,,, it`s all about the 4s,,, & seeing as my favourite number is 3,,,
well 3x4 is 12,,, 1 + 2 = 3 :-)

Although I understand the out and out mentalness of turbo hyabusa engines, I'd rather use a 1,800cc Harley engine, with the cam boxes just poking out of the bonnet like a Falcon shaker bonnet, driving a rear mounted gearbox ala Alfa Sprints. Massive torque, quite large power and a different engine note. Sadly, my balls never drop for me. Lotto balls that is.

There was a guy on the miniforum.co.uk who was going to put a Duke engine into a mini, but he started by deseaming the chassis badly and coped so much flak that he never made another post. But again, Ducati engines make for an interesting choice as well. Or the donk from a Suzuki M109. 1,800cc that will accelerate as hard as a GSR1000, but there's many more tuning options for hog motors.

i want to buy (some-thing like) a yamaha MT01,,, but i`d keep it as a bike & ride it,,, Theyre just ugly as sin & grunty as all hell,,, i just love em :-)

But alas,,, MY balls havn`t dropped (yet) either :-)

Sorry for dredging up an old-ish thread, but found this video on YouTube. And if you've got the sound on, you'll realise why a V-twin would be awesome (in the correct sense of the word) in a Mini. Which is why I buy the occasional lotto ticket ;)

The engine comes from an Aprilia RSV bike which never really challenged Ducati for coolness; they always looked a bit lardy to my mind.
