no,,, if it`s not got 5 million HP,,,, big gobs of torque,,,, is far lighter,,, bolts straight in,,, & costs almost nothing

then don`t do it

It depends, if your converting it into a 1990 corolla with a stuffed engine itd be fantastic.

In a mini the auto on toyotas is quite large, so bulkhead mods would need to be done.

jeez - I moved that other thread into other makes because I thought you'd put it in here by mistake and you were just asking if it was OK for a runabout.... I didn't expect anyone would want to put one of those in a mini, yukko

Ha I thought I had posted it but wasn't sure when I couldn't find it :? I just thought because it's from the Toyota 4A... family it may have been worth a look. I wasn't to sure about the auto either, had a feeling it would be too big.

A 4AFE is just a more fuel efficient version of the 4AGE. Similar size, interchangeable block and gearbox.

If you were going to go to the effort of using a 4a engine, then you would be much better off using the 4AGE.
