I'm just putting it out there...
I only really thought of it the other day..

I used to have a Suzuki Baleno 1.6L (G16b) , and it was a relatively easy mod to put the G13b head on them for more power ( came with SOHC), so i just thought if you can put a G13b in a mini, why not a G16b??

The Baleno was only about 100kg heavier than the Swift, and it was larger than a swift, so the motor couldn't be that much heavier..

It didn't seem that much larger in size..

Anyone looked into it???

Just thinking out loud here.. :D

I think people use the blocks sometimes but I think they don't rev as well as the 13.. And the internals aren't as strong.. I think anyway not 100% sure..

At the end of the day you can put any engine in there..

G16b is an inch taller and is a lower spec crank, rods and pistons. The Guys who made big power with the Swifts stuck with the swift motor...

I had a G16b in my Swift, a 1.6L Suzuki Swift sedan.

I am pretty sure there is a difference between baleno and swift g16bs though ? Not entirely sure what...

I had one of these beasties...The FWD model, not AWD...yes there was an AWD one.

About 1000 AWD swifts with the G16A engine were sold here. I did see one on eBay several years ago.
