Not sure if this is discussed already. R1 front wheel drive conversions. Are these possible in oz? http://www.pro-motive.co.uk/index.php?page=r1-kit

well,,, i have been given approval from my engineer to do them so yes

but !!!! that was approval for me doing them -> my way ... so i can`t say what my engineer would say to anyone elses design

in other words --> i can`t talk for an "across the board" sort of spectrum,,, but he`s happy enough with what i`ve done so if you can get "Your" favourite engineer on-board then i`d suggest that he should also say yes,,, if he knows his stuff) & proivided he`s happy with your design (or promotives or Xvo`s or any of the many other R1 conversion companys designs)

if you get my drift>?

My guy is one of the very very best in Qld so i`d be expecting he knows what he`s on about

Looks like a slightly less pain free way to go than having to cut into the body

There`s no need to cut into the body

It's been discussed about 35 times usually with a mass of interest and people saying they will do it followed by no one actually doing it. That kit works out pretty expensive when all is said and done, interested to see matts kit.

After driving an Aussie racing car I'm not sure a bike engine on the road would be very nice to live with.. But flat stick, awesome

Thought it might be done to death. I just read about it in mini mag today. I suppose it is the only way to run bike engines in oz.

People are doing them, I know of 2 here in Perth. One in the build and another finished and fanging around the track. The finished one is not registered as it was an early one with electric reverse, but the owner doesnt care as it is just a track car anyway.

I wonde if the ausmini member who bought my r1 engine ever made any headway?

I shelved the idea after realizing it was not what I was looking for.
