Actually that's another good choice Doc? Pity you can't just whip down to your local wrecker and pick one up (unless you live in japan!). Still I guess you could measure up the Australian variant?

There is plenty of info and pictures of these nissan micra motors here:
http://www.micra.com.au/

The engine code is CG13DE: DOHC 16valve 1275cc 4 cylinder

They make 55kw standard. Can handle 6psi without intercooling. There is one in sydney with a t25 ball bearing turbo with intercooler on standard engine made 90kw@wheels.

Bolt on turbo kit available in US here: http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/TUSNM2001S.htm

Anyones sister have one we can measure up?

There was a Micra/March Super-Turbo available in Japan. 930cc Four cylinder with a supercharger AND a turbo charger!!

Local model looks like the swap is possible, very compact motor.

I have seen the cg13de dummy fitted in a clubman mini and no cutting was required for it to fit. PIstons auto in baywater is the guy doing it and plans to do a drive in drive out conversion. I went and good a price for engine and gearbox at a jap wreckers in footscray and the it is $1300 engine and gearbox. nice price :D

Any ideas on what the drive in drive out would be?

i Asked about price at the start of 2004 and i think he was aiming for around $6000.

On one of the micra sites a dude stated he got 88kW out of the engine with no internal mods. Just a good exhaust, air intake and something bout tricking the computer into giving the motor more fuel. Then he said he could just beat SSS pulsars and that was in a micra.
supposedly these engines are better than the swift engines just detuned for a shopping car.
Also you can get the March super turbo motor for $1000 but the dude said you had to be brave coz if it breaks, parts are impossible to get.

I'm pretty sure Pistons aren't doing the Micra conversions now. I enquired a couple of months ago and I was told that they sold their prototype, but they may be doing them again.
