From what I have read, the Honda engines are about 50kgs heavier. I have the weights before the project so will find out after. Hopefully after removing all the stuff I don't need from the B16 and adding the required hybrid gear in it should balance out or increased by less than 50kgs.
There is no plans to change the coils i have in it. They are road race. I may have to raise it a little to allow for the additional weight.

Yep the wirings a fun job. :?

Whats the wiring for your engine? Have you bought a minitec / rywire loom or using an OEM honda one?

OEM Honda engine harness, then Honda harness from engine into firewall then a couple of multi pin plugs connecting it to the ECU and dash cluster. Original mini wiring still remains for front lights etc.

Nooooooo! Not Lucas wiring!
Even if you run them in the same location as the old wires, please replace them. It'll save you upgrading the headlight wires later if/when you get the drop-in halogen headlight conversion too. If nothing else, do it just to get rid of those bullet connectors to have blade terminals instead! :)

I already have the halogen headlights and it's been fine. I don't like any of the mini wiring to be honest but to replace it all is another project for another time. Thanks for the feedback though.

Bit by bit it is still coming together......slowly.

After reviewing the feedback on Ausmini and other forums I decided to modify the accelerator pedal to reduce that on/off switch feeling that people are talking about. I took an inch out of the top and added it to the bottom and raised the mounting point.
I extended the short shift Honda gear lever and installed it for the last time. Hopefully.
Radiator, wiring and a few other bits and pieces installed.

I also purchased a set of minivation bonnet hinges to make it easier to work on the car in the future without removing the bonnet.
It's off to get the exhaust done now.

In terms of the hinges, you may need to tighten, test, then twist the back side bolts down.

As my engine was so far forward I had to get the exhaust custom made from headers right through. Garry & Dave from TruFit Exhaust in Moorabbin (Vic) were extremely helpful and well priced too. I picked up the car today and there was a nice blue Vtec Moke getting an exhaust done too. Who would have thought.
The headers were made in two pieces to allow for easy removal. I also had them wrapped to protect the front grille and paintwork from the heat.
It then flows to a collector with 02 sensor, Flexi joint, custom cat, resonator then to the straight through Playmini muffler. I'm looking forward to hearing it when it's up and running.
