I want to strip a model van i've got, to repaint and apply custom decals onto it. Any suggestions from exprienced model modifiers appreciated.
This project is for my Grandfathers 90th, so please give me everything and anything. Thanks Anthony.

Have a look at these that I did , http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=39508 , just use normal paint stripper but when they have been stripped wash them with general purpose paint thinners to make sure they are clean .

As for the custom decals , hopefully Matt68 will comment on how he did the ones for the muster model

yep i use paint stripper and rapped it in cling wrap for an hour or two and clean off with thinners also

I used laser waterslide decal paper from the copier company (Australian supplier, who actually had a person on the other end of the phone and were helpful!)

can i suggest when you paint it... bake it in ya home oven thats if the model is metal??...i use this method on all my models i have resprayed and it works a treat....stops running...and paint is allways shiny.
i bake my model b4 and after i paint it...painting a warm model seems to help the paint go on nice...well for me it does anyway.
i did my ap 4 spot calpers using this method also and they turned out excelent also did a pair of vw calipers for a mate and again turned out good.
