The standard M05 chassis. Snapped of the ear that the top RHS suspension arm mounts to. It has learnt a big hole through to the diff.

New one has been ordered. Only $7 for a replacement.

Just bolt it back on with four 1/4" bolts, works fine on real one.

bearings didn't arrive Wednesday OR Thursday - they're coming from Newcastle somewhere - honestly.... 2 body shells from England and a motor/ESC kit from Hong Kong got here quicker :(

No progress pics Ryan, it's not that interesting really. Dirty old M01 chassis with a couple of new bits on it. I'll go to the hobby shop tomorrow and see about some paint for the new shell and maybe take a picture of that

I do have a lipo charger Scott - that's what got this whole thing started "I have this battery and charger I'd like to do something with..." turned out the battery was no use, but the charger is a good one.

Could use some new tyres though

And my wheels are a bit knocked around....

kiddies and I took it to the local track for a fang around this afternoon... worn out 17 year old stock tyres are crap!!

here's what I did with the new shell - looks very yellow in the photo, but in real life it's very a similar colour to my S

bit of edge bleed visible there

it doesn't look as shiny as that anymore, I went a bit fast and shunted it under the fence at the track and scuffed the mudguard

The Wodonga track is quite tricky and very technical.

Here I am on the Wodonga track. I am in the front and have #3 on my car, sorry it's Skoda and not a Mini... but when you buy a second hand car and the guy throws in 3 or 4 good bodies... Photo may be manipulated a little. Photo credit Tony Parreiro.

"a little" !!?? lol - cool bit of editing

I charged up the battery last night (hadn't charged it since it arrived from hobbyking) and 3 of us were bored before it ran out today, easily 45 minutes driving it... bizarre. The front tyres are now completely bald too

what's the best race tyre supplier?

RC Mart or eBay.

An ok tyre with LONG life for the front - http://www.rcmart.com/ride-3035-mini-be ... th=35_1386

These are ok for the rear in the cold - http://www.rcmart.com/shimizu-racing-ps ... th=35_1386

8 wheels - http://www.rcmart.com/cross-m0302w-5spo ... ath=35_898

Inserts - http://www.rcmart.com/sweep-smis-mini-m ... th=35_1378

Or unless you can see the foam inserts in the tyres you have now, chuck the best ones on the front and wait until you see me next and I'll give you some kit tyres.

so they're standard size tyres, right? the "inch-up" tyres all use a different wheel

I'd be curious to go in a race, but I think I'd get in the way even in the slowest group... they have a race night this Saturday 5 till 9

doubt I can get tyres by then...

Correct, standard size rims as per the kit. You can't use the kit type inserts, however, as the tyres are a lower profile.

but if I actually wanted to race I'd be best going straight to the inch up wheels...

No. Not at the start. They can be very tricky to drive and take more tuning than other options. They're prone to traction roll. The Ride 3035's that I linked to above are what I recommend to everyone starting in Mini, even experienced racers who haven't ran Mini.
