I run the following:
Alloy uprights front and rear. -2 on rear
Alloy shock tower on the front.
Alloy steering.
TRF Works shocks.

In saying that, most of my alloy parts are 3racing and they have been great. My dad uses the 3racing shocks and he loves them.

Scott, you can buy the hinge pins, I've seen them on a few sites.

Hey Michael,

I've bought most of my stuff from RCmart, Hobbyking, banzai hobby and tqracing. Maxpower RC in russle vale is also very helpful but don't carry much mini stuff anymore,

As for racing, I race at the Illawarra Model Car Club track at Guest Park in Fairy Meadow. Racing is the second and fourth Sunday of the Month.

Cheapest place to buy a kit from is Banzai Hobby.

Ryan

I've found Banzai hobby to be the cheapest by easily 10%, but don't carry the variety of rcmart who are 2nd cheapest

both good on shipping

As far as I know, there isn't a mini nitro class. Anything that was originally a nitro mini are incredibly rare these days. I can think of three but I may be wrong. Pretty much every mini out there is a tamiya in racing and they are all electric I'm afraid.

I always had plenty of old oil here from other shocks - so I would guess you are correct!

does look like it..... sigh.... what oil should I get?

PDF parts list (handy) http://www.tamiyausa.com/pdf/pl/54000.pdf

in other news, if someone happened to be able to source a number of countryman, pickup and HPI-style mini shells for a reasonable price, how many people would want them?

Running brushless. The rules for be mini class are on the IMCC website. The class specifies either the stock tamiya 540motor (silver can), sport tuned motor (black can) or the hobbywing ezrun 35a esc and 13t 3000kv brushless combo. Most people run the brushless combo.

If you want I can meet you at the track one day and show you everything and give you a rundown on how it all works.
