I got this text from Flute this morning ,

Quote:
I'm outside spotlight waiting for it to open in 5 mins . My boss thinks us mini people are mad . He might be right!

which started me thinking , just how mad are mini model collectors and what is the furthest you have gone to get a model ?

The one that comes to mind for me is arguing with a Hong Kong florist in his tiny shop for about an hour as to why I HAD to buy a model he had on display (was a wedding bonbonierie of a cartoonish newly wed couple in a convertible mini) while he was saying he had to buy another 400 personalised ones to get a sample to display in his shop . He spoke only a dozen or so words in English and I spoke 2 words in chinese .... I ended up holding HK$150 in one hand and the model in the other , he looked really confused and torn but after ten minutes more of hand gestures and half of my Chinese repertoir (Please) he agree'd and took the money (roughly $20 Australian at the time) . Then he got the other half of my Chinese repertoir (Thankyou) To buy 400 they were HK$5 each so I paid over market value but they weren't availible singly . Keep thinking I need to find the wholesaler though and buy 400 to sell over here :D

YES.

If you went to buy a new car, you would buy one and not the whole lot just cos they are there.
If you find a model mini you will search the rest of the display to get any others, and buy them too. 8)
