Looking through the brochure for it that a mate "smuggled" down to me it has some good features (rear lights visible with rear doors open for night unloading etc) but unfortunately the single suicide door on the wrong side loses any points it had . Looking at the new clubman has made me like the original (series 1?) Bini even more .

Spot on Ian about how this latest design has shown how good the original BINI design looks.

The rear tail lights on the clubman are one of those pragmatic features that whilst a good idea (think P76 boot), has failed in its execution due to the trade off (in this case ugly looks). When closed the rear is now dominated by the silver bezels that surround the tail lights, and when open... take a look.

I think they would have looked better if the lights had have been attached to the doors. It's a great safety feature.

If it drives as nice as my mum's new Cooper 'S' I think it would be worth while because we hardly ever have anyone in the back seats of any of our cars. Unfortunately most people I talk to about the new ones seem to think the older supercharged ones are better than the new turbo ones.

I am really interested to see one of these in real life.
