Post subject: | Mum Needs Convincing. |
hi, this is my last year of school, and as a result my mum has decided that she no longer needs a sensible car (she has been driving falcons and magnas for the last 10 years) to cart me and all my stuff around. she has been looking at all of the sports cars and some more luxurious cars like lexus, i am trying to convince her that she needs an new mini, but she is skeptical, do you guys have any ammo i can use to convince her that what she needs is a mini. thanks, dp. (i think it will look really cool with a new and an classic mini in the driveway when i get mine.) |

Test drive! How much she likes to drive a car will help determine her choice. |

Get her to test drive a Cooper S They are VERY nice to drive. Put your location in your profile - most people on here know where the "friendly" dealers are who will give you a test drive and look after you. |

You can just do what my Dad and I did, took Mum's car and traded it in on a Cooper S. She thought we were joking, we were not. She loves it now and wont swap it for anything. Even the Cooper Cabrio we had for the day on Monday, she doesn't want it, just wants our S. Tell your Mum they are cool little cars with lots of zip and she'll get noticed. They are good on fuel and very comfy to drive, especally the S. And the looks you get when you drive the Bini and the Mini in convoy is great. Leigh |

Yeah the Cabrio is the convertible. It's great too, but most certainly a 2 seater, with the top up the roof is very low at the back, I have a fear of closed spaces, so the back wouldn't be for me ![]() Your Mum sounds like she needs a Cooper S, you put the foot down and you're away. Let her go and test drive one, Bib Stiwell in High street Malvern I think it is may have a cer to test drive. Or Doncaster BMW, they ahve a few second hand Mini's. Let her drive one and she'll be blown away by what a little car can do. Good luck, Leigh |

As others have already said, the best thing to do is get your mum to go for a drive in an S - it only takes one drive to convince any potential owner ![]() I can still remember the smile on my wife's face during one of her early drives in our new S. Cheers Chris |

Just get her to take the test drive. ![]() |

I don't think she'll get stuck in the left lane too often in a Cooper S!! I'd be inclined to steer away from the Cabrio though - it's a lot heavier and doesn't handle QUITE as well as the standard one - you can get a full length sunroof if you're that way inclined. |

![]() ![]() hahaha, the new MX5 performs just about as well as a standard Cooper, as for being more a drivers car, that is debateable, I'd take a Cooper over an MX5 any day. In fact I'd take a 1970 MGB over an MX5 ![]() |

Each to his own, so enjoy your MGB ![]() |
