anyone heard about this?

Quote:
Just been discovered in the US in the last couple of weeks, but there is a
design / manufacture fault (not determined which yet!) with the new Minis which
is causing rust.

The door seal (both driver and passenger sides) is either rubbing through the
paint or flaking the paint under the seal when the doors are opened or closed,
and in some cases (mostly late '02 builds) the seals are also trapping water
after cleaning.

The problem is worst along the bottom edge along the door sill. Lift the rubber
seal there and most new Minis will have bare metal and light rust.

Someone on the SAMCC chat group posted this and i was interested to see if anyone had discovered this issue or at least been aware of it.

Cheers
Aaron

Thanks Aaron, anyone who goes to mini2 is aware of the problem and it has been discovered in cars that are less than 12 months old.

Interesting to here really. It is nice to see the BMC traits rearing it's ugly head. Makes me want to get one now as it really does have the BMC heritage.

Cheers
