Does anybody know what type of Baby capsules can be fitted to a 2003 Cooper ? Either that or the baby?s going to have to ride in the boot, as I?m not selling my car ![]() |

Best thing to do is to take your car down to your local baby seat fitting station and work out with the expert down there what fits best. Being a two door, be prepared to climb in the back with the little or end up with lower back problems. I would recommend that your hire one of the dedicated baby capsules (as opposed to the convertibles) for a new born and then buy a new child seat at 6 months. The convertible seat since it performs dual functions is a compromised design IMHO. ![]() |

if i was you, and i was 2 years ago(well the the same situation) we didn't use a baby capsule but instead used a revesable seat. We used this setup in our old mini and had no problems getting our boy in and out of the car at all. It takes a few goes but you get used to the bub in and out. Baby capules for the use of time you get to use them arn't worth it, even to hire one. Our seats we bought when he was born and he'll still be using them all the way thru to when he doesn't need one anymore. Get a good one and it will last ![]() Cheers Aaron |

thanks guys, Ill be getting one of the revesable seats in a few weeks, but the mother in law is getting hers this weekend so ill check that it fits in the mini before i get mine ![]() Would it be allso be a good Idear to disable the rear left passenger airbag??? Ive read mixed reports on the safety of the child in the seat, if the airbag deploys in an accident. |

The airbag will only deploy in a serious accident and is more likely to do good than harm. |

Matches, there's a thing called a "turn a tot" its a car seat that you put the baby in then turn it round 180 deg and latch it into place. makes the job of lifting in and out much easier. We didn't buy one because we didn't thionk it sat flat on the seat properly, but others on MINI2 reckon we muist be high, because they've used them and they worked great. so worth checking out. we just used a safe n sound compaq, turned around for the first 7 months or whatever it is. It was great, and nice and small. we did used to load her in from the boot though. easier than climbing in and reaching over, but lots of strange looks in car parks. About the airbags: BMW will guarantee you that the airbags in the MINI are not dangerous to infants, and do not need to be disconnected. Apprently its only one type of airbag that is dangeraous, and MINI's don't have them. If you're at all worried about it, run the seat forward and back a few times putting your bub in, and they probly won't work anyway ![]() ![]() enjoy your bub. |

I came across this info as I'm looking at buying a booster seat and remembered this post. http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/roadsafety/re ... raint.html According to the following article, "Currently in NSW, it is illegal to use a child restraint in a front passenger seat if there is an airbag for the passenger." http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/Artic ... cleID=1924 http://www.choice.com.au/viewArticle.as ... +(archived) I used the following as guide when I first became a father, back then it was a little out of date as some seats were NLA. http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/roadsafety/do ... no4305.pdf |
