Great , put the suicide door on the right so the rear passengers can only get out on the traffic side , that's safe ![]() |

[video] Well that was boring ![]() The suicide door seat belt will get in the way, and I reckon the rear doors look a bit dicky when open. no offence but why could'nt BMW just have improced the classic styled mini? show us how cleaver they are and build an all alloy 1.4L, twincam, 5 speed lump...that could have gone in the classic, then I'd definetly want a new 'MINI'. |

I'm actually quite disappointed. That's not a clubman. Where is the square front? And those doors at the back? I know there are classic clubman panelvans, but a clubman sedan should have a normal back like the new coopers did. I personally think its an ugly looking creation. With all the resources BMW have they couldn't come up with something unique but also true to its classic form. |

Borrowed from the International Mini Model Collectors Club , they are already on their way to the dealers , I didn't realise they were that far ahead , I thought they were still sorting them out . Quote: Corgilist wrote:
Today i spotted the 1st delivery of MINI Clubmans for the Netherlands, ![]() They are located in Oosterhout, In Oosterhout is a huge carlot where cars are waiting for delivery to the dealers. Oosterhout is just 10km away from my house. I was tipped about the cars by a member of Newminiclub.nl, a club which i'm also a member of. (Edited by Corgilist) |

The car in the vid's left hand drive so the door's on the right hand side , the safe side when the car drives on the right hand side of the road . They aren't changing it for here though according to several reports as it'd be too expensive so despite the safety features they brag about to sell it you have to get the kids in the back out on the side that has live traffic ![]() |

Ok , this makes some sense now . Quote: Corgilist wrote:
The reason why they didn't called it Traveller is simply because BMW doesn't own that name. That's why they called it Clubman The Clubmans are waiting for delivery to the Dealers in The Netherlands I don't know when they are available in Australia. Marco Marco's just joined here as well but I'll quote this for him till his accounts activated . |

![]() No less safe than a passenger getting out of the rear right hand door on any 4 door car ![]() Some interesting pictures and comments on MINI2 after a visit to the factory by a few MINI2ers http://www.mini2.com/forum/photos-photo ... -07-a.html |

![]() True , but that's why most parents (myself included) always get the kids (well , only one kid) out on the passenger as reccomended by the RTA . The Holden version of the chevy suburban was the same when they released it here (is it still available??? didn't see many and then it seemed to vanish) , the only side with the tilting seat for the very back seat access was the drivers side . I did read though that it's still possible to get people out of the back through the passenger side , it's just there's more room on the drivers side . |

mcsmik wrote: No less safe than a passenger getting out of the rear right hand door on any 4 door car ![]() You're right, however the point is that whilst the suicide door has made the Clubman a more practical car, for RHD markets its positioning has almost made this feature redundant before the car has even turned a wheel. MINIs are a premium offering, and its a shame that BMW couldn't make the numbers work for RHD. Thanks for the MINI2 photos, as with all these MINI events looks like a fun, well run event. Anybody else notice the slogan, Quote: MINI CLUBMAN. THE OTHER MINI.
