i to belived that the MINI ''CLUBMAN'' was ugly aswell, all i'd seen it in were photos though. but once i saw it out of the showroom, out of the perfect sterile environment of a photo studio...
once i saw it out on the street with all the other common cars, covered in the same grime as the next vehicle, parked in the same parking spots, out in the real world. my view on the looks of the MINI CLUBMAN changed. in real life the car stands it's ground and looks good on the street.
do you have to taste a wine first before you know you like it? do you have to watch a movie first before you know you like it?
(with these statements it is like comparing the cost of milk with the cost of petrol, they are different and irrellevant situations)
but we have all heard your opion ''the new mini clubman is ugly'' and we have all heard mine ''before you completely shun it, see it out on the street''
seeing an ugly car on the street with all the other cars, just makes it common, dirty and ugy -
as for wine - I have good idea if I am going to like wine based on where it comes from, what kind of grape is used and year - this allows me to form opinions that helps avoid the bad ones - and I even try things completely new but mstly I am disappointed with those.
As for movies based on the actor ,the director, the writer and the theme I can have good idea whether a movie is crap before I take it out the cover.
The mini clubman its like a dog turd fruit cake, most of the igredients are great but then some bright spark decides that a fresh warm marrowbone laden retriver donation will improve it all - if you are unsure and want to taste it first be my guest.
Sure you cant judge a book by its cover, but if somebody has wiped there basksides with it, I not going to read it.
