Zero is an odd name, I would have thought that Mitsubishi had first dibs on it.

Don't mention the war...

Not small enough for me. BMW could (but probably won't) built a supermini-class MINI. I'd love to be on the design team though. There wouldn't be any pseudo 'design clues' like bumps where external hinges would have been, and it would definitely be a 'less is more' idea. This goes somewhat towards that but BMW won't be able to help themselves. It'll have plastic rubbish and faux this-and-that all over it before it reaches production.

I dont mind it...

Its funny the way they use MINI rather than Mini to distinguish the current and the classic

"The design of the MINI Zero is modern, sophisticated and athletic. It evolves the current design language but still stays true to the main iconic MINI characteristics. These iconic elements have helped shape the identity of the brand and its cars. However, the concept also challenges other aspects of the brand which have overshadowed the original intent of Sir Alec Issigonis' classic MINI."

Fiat 500 is what I first thought too...

bahaha - love this bit - OMG, reality! it is just a fashion accessory!!

Lately the MINI brand has been losing appeal and market share in the premium small-car segment due to competitors like the Audi A1, Fiat 500 and Citroën DS3. One of the criticisms is the playful styling of the current MINI, which often make the car look like a toy or a trendy fashion victim relying heavily on printed stickers or "limited editions" to differentiate.

this bit is interesting

The new MINI family is moving to the new modular F-platform which will also be shared with BMW’s front-wheel-drive models

are they referring to front wheel drive cars with BMW badges?

the front here looks like a fish

the high waistline and low roof will make it so claustrophobic inside, but the high waistline is required for the European pedestrian safety rules where the bonnet/nose needs to be at a certain height... so if you want a low car you end up with small windows
