Post subject:  Where NOT to buy a new MINI
Hey all

I'm of the opinion that you can buy a car anywhere, but customer service is important and is ultimately what would decide for me where to buy a new car. Well that and price.

Well I like to look at cars - especially Minis as I will purchase one - not for a little while admittedly, but I think the smart car dealer would be nice to everyone - you never know who the buyers may be. When I bought my Commodore, I went back to the dealer that treated me the best in the time I was just looking (or tyre kicking if you want to be nasty about it!!).

Well, I can tell you right now, If like me you are a fan of good customer service, don't bother going to * MINI at *. I was in the area yesterday, and thought I'd just have a look.

Most car dealers will come and at least ask you if you need help within about 5 minutes or you looking around. Not here. I tinkered about and showed obvious interest in the cars for at least 20 minutes before deciding to hunt down some help myself (Which in a service environment like that I believe you should never have to do).

The receptionist then proceeded to tell me there was nobody there to help me at all.
A dealership FULL of workers (It's a fairly large BMW dealer) and nobody at all selling Mini's.

I guess with the shortage and waiting list actually having someone SELL them isn't a proirity.

Dodgy people there, i thought they would have been a good place to go but they ended up stuffing me over. DAMN!!!

I had an experience with a VW Dealership looking at a new Touareg...(the one just off * if anyone cares)

OTOH i've heard good things about the Sylvania MINI Garage..can't comment personally though....but might be worth a look ;)

Yeah, they're great supporters of our club, and probably where I'm a lot more likely to go once I have the money. We actually have a club convoy down there on Sunday Aug 7th If anyone's interested I'll post more details.
