Does that mean it was a 731 and GR made it into a RE-13
...Interesting
or was it a new one
There's enough meat on a stock Mini or S cam to do a few regrinds, unless you're talking race profiles...
(Many) years ago, I got a factory 731 cam from a mate who worked in BMC's plant. He had run it in his Cooper, and it had one badly worn lobe.
I got Bert Jones to grind a `master' (like a template) from it, and then regrind onto an S cam.
Fast forward to 1980- I bought a `68 Cooper S that had a Bert Jones cam, it was a POS grind. So I got Bert to find my master and put a 731 grind on this cam.
A few years back I needed more grunt when I started running my red car, so I fitted the Camtech 619 (VP3) one in. When it wore out I pulled this one out of my stash and got Graham Russell to grind it again, to an RE-13.
BTW the duration on this cam is around 277* inlet/286* exhaust.
