I need to fit a Mini Turbo bulkhead box for installation of a Metro Turbo setup. :)
Does any one have the measurements to make one of these boxes or do I purchase one from the UK?
Any tips are greatfully accepted.

People here have fitted a battery box...

Another way is buy your turbo manifold from `Benjamin', his setup doesn't need a box or bulkhead surgery.
It runs a T25 turbo I think. He got way more power from his 1152 than the Metro turbo 1275 setup.

HI Michael,

The Doc is right speak to Ben, but if you are not going for ultimate HP then a std metro manifold will be ok, they will limit to around 180 to 190 hp at crank.

i dont know of anyone who has used one of Bens to get over that but i am not sure if he has sold one to onyone with a 1275 yet.

I am getting a new manofld made as we speak by a mate in QLD who does them for all sorts of engines, its a direct replacment for the metro setup.

but if you wanted to go the direction of not cutting the firewall (as it will need to be engineered as you have to cut the cross brace) then either speak to Ben or Mirage manfolds in the UK.

Grant

Im not sure a battery box would work, the bulkhead boxes for turbos tend to be wider and shallower than a battery box.

Thats what needs to be cut out, then plates welded in.

Thank you all for your help.
Yes! I am reluctant to cut the bulkhead and also after further reading it would appear the Metro Turbo kit I have is probably very "yesterday" as most turbos being recommended for the mini are the "T2" range.
I am not after big power figures but on the other hand I do not want to go down the Turbo path to only achieve figures of a well modified normally asperated engine.
I have looked at the Turbo minis web site and a few other UK Turbo sites and the majority are indicating good results from the T25, plus the manifold from Mirage looks a bit more professional than the clunky setup of the Standard Metro Turbo. and I would not have to take big chunks out of the firewall and bulkhead.

I guess its a case of watch this space? :? I may have a T3 turbo for sale?

add a re-13T 10psi boost with a t2 and you should see 140hp+ at the crank fairly easy

T2 turbo is rated around 160hp i think and a highflow one will get more so for a daily or sporty little car is enough, a bigger turbo will only really gain at higher boost levels.

edit: im talking about the t2 from the 1.5L n12 nissan pulsar turbo or nissan exa

off topic , what turbo are you using grant?

Im still using the old clunker T25 of a CA18 nissan motor.

first step has been to change the manifold (on its way) and then save a few more $$$ then a GT series turbo.

this new gearbox is killing me in $$$

How do you find the delivery of the T25? turbo lag, etc.. I was considering one of these for the 1400cc Datto motor in my Morry but thought it may be too big...?

depends what t25 > there is quite a few

grant is using one from a ca18det nissan motor so lag is not too bad

im using a gt series gt25 which is very much the same as a sr20det t25 but is ball bearing and i have alot of lag

300zx also use t25

skyline use similar but more t28 family but would be less lag than mine

sooo depends what its off
