I'm having trouble removing the timing crank gear. The cam gear came off easily, but the smaller one won't budge. I cut the chain so i could get a bearing puller but that didn't work.

Is the keyway preventing me from removing it, does that come off.

I'm thinking the keyway may be bent preventing the gear from coming off.

I was thinking of leaving it and continue stripping the motor, leaving just the gear and the timing plate on the crankshaft and getting a mechanic to remove it when i get the crank crack tested.

Its a 1275 1100S motor.

Anyone had problems before?

Key has probably been hammered. It is a woodruff key, not a flat one.
Persevere with the puller, it'll come off.
It may have Loctite put in there, if so apply some heat with Mr hot air gun or Mrs hairdryer, should help expand it anyway. :P
