Looking good.
FYI if you are thinking of Fitting a trigger wheel for megajolt with a SC setup it is no problem, I make one that fits between the pulley and the timing chain cover.

I would stick with the MSD unit. I did look at the Megajolt / Megasquirt option myself but back then you needed a reluctor wheel and crank sensor setup and with the thick SC pulley there, there is bugger all room left. Unless you are running a high compression ratio, I wouldn't think that you would need water/meth injection. The SC12's run out of puff/efficiency at about 14psi. My CR is 8.4:1 dish top pistons and on Aus 98 octane and a rich tune (around 11.5:1) and if I turn the MSD retard down to zero I only get slight detonation at 10psi(my max)

Also, I have all of my SC breathers hooked up together. When I vent them to the vac advance port on the carb for some reason it leans off/ changes my tune considerably.

Hope this helps
Cheers
Rick

I plan on only running hopefully 10psi max, atleast to start. My 1098 is all bone stock. I will be working on it almost all day today to get the tappet breather fabbed, vent on rocker cover, replace motor mounts (1 broke when I went to change the crank pulley), and then start reassembly. Hopefully it will be a productive day, need to have it ready for April 4th. Cheers.

This is a bit off the original thread, it looks like you are running 7 inch rims, what tyre size are you running

Yes, they are 10x7, I find the 165 tires have a minimal stretch. Not sure if you have the stanced/stretch crowd out there, but I have run a 255 on a 10" wide rim and even that was not too bad. Nothing compared to what those guys are doing. I almost found that the 175's on my custom 13x7's had more stretch.

Hi,

Can you remember the 255 size/10 brand name?

When I mean 255, this was on a 18"x10" wheel. Sorry, only Mini tire I have seen really wider is the 195/45/13's. No real wide tire for 10's other than Dot approved Golf Cart tires every one is against.

Got the crank pulley fitted and belt fitted up.

Heater hoses routed, oil catch can installed

Rocker cover breather

Tappet cover breather being made up.

Ain't the prettiest, but hopefully it will get the job done.

Image

The tappet breather exits under the header, infront of the slave cylinder.

New 4 fuse block triggered off ignition for "accessories IE Fuel pump, msd box, etc), also can see the 3/4" Boom Mat on the firewall. We will see how that works out.

Autometer boost gauge installed in a bod on the steering column.

Interior starting to look tasty.

Polk Audio 3.5" dash speakers installed, vent trim retained to "finish it off".

Well, got it fired up Friday night at 9:30pm. Forgot how loud my car is with just a single box with the choke pulled out. I had it booked in for a dyno tune session the day before, but I could not get spark when I had the MSD Boost Timing Master wired up. I thought it was a bad box, then realized the next morning I had it wired wrong for a hall effect distributor. Wired it up the "correct" way and it came to life... eventually. I just didn't have enough juice left in the battery that night to spin the old starter.

I assume if the engine doesn't spin fast enough it won't draw in the fuel? I changed out the inertia starter for a 89 isuzu trooper starter (gear reduction). This helped a lot the next night, way easier to start. But keeping it running seems to be a bit of a challenge. I'm hoping the starting issue gets easier as the car is used more, but it took a while to get it going. I'm gonna try a much leaner needle this week as what the carb has in it now was for a 1275, not a 1098 supercharged setup and it is very very thin. About half of what a BDL or BDX needle is.

I'll post some more pictures/video when it moves.
