Nothing new under the sun, I would guess then that Jonspeed ones will as well.

So to be true, you need to add in one H5 reamer as well.

Reply was "Hi, These are approx 1.43:1 ratio when fitted."

Has anyone used these and are they quoting correct ratio increases?

I fitted UK offset rocker bushes to some S forged rockers years ago, they were well short of 1.3:1.
Stock S rockers with a new shaft and RE13 cam I measured at 1.16:1. They are worst lift ratio of any stock rocker.

I used to make and fit .044" offset bronze bushes to 850/998/1098 pressed steel rockers. These then just made 1.3:1 ratio, and these bushes had more offset than the UK supplied ones.
If you want 1.5:1 ratio you will have to buy new rockers, offset bushes won't do it.
Minispares 1.5 roller tips that a member here bought recently had 8 bent adjusters, same problem another member had with recent MSC `forged' (actually now cast iron) 1.5 rockers. As you rotate the adjuster the ball goes round in an orbit...
Cure is fit some s/h adjusters from the late sintered rockers (these are straight)

Thanks Doc
I don't want to go overboard on my S. I want to keep it looking and sounding stock for show and shines but go a little better for everyday use.
I will eventually be doing a rebuild and may fit the new GR S Camshaft.
Until then I wanted to do a few upgrades that keep the original look. Head, Manifold and Carbs are already sorted. Just have to do something inside the airbox. I will try K&N's first and see how it goes. Trying to work out how to get rid of the posts in the centre of the elbows.

I had a set of Minispares break. Not impressed, was an expensive rebuild.

Bought a set from Leigh Engineering in Heidelberg. Beautiful piece of work. Have been on for several meetings how. Any engineering business with an Nb Mini on display gets a tick from me.

The spacers make it look large. It's a normal sized shaft.

Just my 2-bit bush mechanic opinion on rollers:

Lost count of the number of threads I've read and engines I've seen in person where rollers have self destructed.....but I've yet to see an engine need rebuilding or junking because of side loading on the valve guides.....

True.

Pro: Horsepower
Con: Reliability

If you are going to use them, spend the $ on a good set.

Harland Sharp do 1.5s for A series too. But you have to supply your own offset rocker posts.

Dunno how well made Harland Sharps are, some blokes on LS1 forum have bagged them.

Found them. Offset bushes. And I picked up an Adjustable Reamer to suit the rocker shaft size, H5.

Lovely looking bushings. How do you line them up?

I haven't tried fitting them, they've been waiting for a good reason to need them  but I did another set a number of years ago using a socket as a press and a vice to apply the pressure with a set of soft jaws.

There's no reference mark, but you are supposed to press the thick side of the bush in towards the valve contact pad.
Consistency would be the trick here.

I'll sit down and work out a method which gives some accuracy, but if the rockers somehow give varied results with a standard bush alone, it may not amount to much in the outcome

Lots of talk about minisport rockers breaking, mine seem to be pretty tough though, they mushroom the top of the valves instead! ;-)

Ever seen that happen before?
