We have not had leaded fuel in Oz for years- then LRP was basically Premium? unleaded with Valvemaster additive.
That's gone now, all unleaded fuels now have no lubricating properties whatever.
If you recut valve seats in an iron head and run NOTHING, the seats will wear away... fairly quick. Like,, on a trial with 202 head I had noticeable wear in 6 months driving... :x

So, choices are-
1. fit unleaded exhaust seats,
2. or run Flashlube or Valvemaster etc additive,
3. or fit a fuel catalyst and pray it works (some do).

Considering that all petrol stations near me have stopped selling Leaded and LRP, there's not much choice but to convert.

I'm using a Fuelstar 'Inline Fuel Catalyst' and it works a treat, but need to use Premium Unleaded.

LRP is still sold at a few random servos, we have one here in Cobram still selling it. However, i do not recommend this. First reason being it is Premium with flashlube mixed, so to what ratio we have no idea, and secondly flashlube settles and the only way to mix it again is when the bowser is refilled. I found this out prior to getting this info from a servo operator, and hell did my mini run the worst its ever run.
The engine reconditooner here in town suggested if you are out of flashlube, you can run that Optimax stuff because of its octane reading and it won't harm your engine.
He also told me that the later clubman heads had hardened seats and no need to have the head done. I recently had the head machined on the clubby and planned to have the head done for unleaded, but after the engine reconditioner checked it out he said not to worry about it and run premium.

LRP has/had Valvemaster in it , not Flashlube. Tht's why it clogs yer plugs (and everything else) up with that lovely brown stuff....

mines sposed to run leaded, but runs unleaded fine, but in the earlier days when unleaded came out i was told it was tried to my car but the octane levels were too low so it sputtered and didnt work.. although these days theyre much higher.. even in normal unleaded.

Sell your engine... get what you can for it

Save your 200-400 for the unleaded conversion

Buy an unleaded A+ 1275 from miniimports for 800-1000
