Yes run it in with castrol, that's fine. The point of using KMX is that it is nice and thin for running in, plus i will probably need to dump it after the dyno mainly for transportation purposes, and at $14 for 6L, it's unbeatable value!

When Graham Russell runs his motors in, he spends time putting them under lots of varying loads..... he doesnt simply keep it at 3 grand for 20 minutes.

Yep he varies it up to 50lb/ft torque load, before doing power runs.

chong - I have a box trailer sitting here doing nothing if it helps, when the time comes to move your motor. Also have a ute, but the tray is a bit high to lift a motor from by hand (4x4 rodeo).

I find one of the front corners of the trailer works best, can be tied off in several directions and pulled tight into the corner.
