Firstly,,, get a comfy wrap around type seat that holds you in there nice firm & snug so you`re not struggling to stay in the drivers side... strangely enough, it will help you way more than you think
Then,,, grab a set of decent offset rockers & pay attention to optimising the rocker clearances,,, set up a pair of decent ":Bell-Mouthes" on the mouths of the carby throats ,,, clean up, open & angle & match port & locate the inlet manifold correctly,,, open up the very first part of the exhaust manifold/extractors to "Bigger" than the exhaust ports of the head & fit an open & """sized & lengthed correctly""" full exhaust system ... Orgainise An optimised distributor set up to suit the new power curve (If you`re running points then you can set them to a smaller gap for more coil ooomph,,, & then a re-tune on the carby to suit.
& yes optimise & """consistant-ise""" (is that a real word?) your engine temp by either putting a thermostat back in,,, or at least fit a restricting/blanking sleave (but i`m not such a big fan of blanking sleaves apart from the fact that they can`t fail by sticking open or shut like a thermostat can)
You can do things like romoving the engine driven fan & the alternator for race days , but i see no sense in wasting all that time stuffing around removing & fitting & generally being a dweeeb for the sake of maybe 2 to 3Hp if you`re lucky ... But still if you`re after every little bit then as the old saying goes,,, """Every little bit adds up"""
stick an over bored 1275 in with a turbo injected twin cam 16v BMW motorbike Cyl head ontop if that`s the case

That` way you can re-program that old saying into """Every BIG bit adds up"""
have fun, & yes less weight makes things go faster, brake easier, & turn quicker with less effort,,, so,,, as they say,--> excess weight is lost HP
Probably 35lbs for your tyre pressures to start with & learn to feel things out along with your wheel alignments,,, maybe buy a pirometer to help set up your wheels/tyres
Long fast straight tracks use less toe out on the front,,, short tight tracks you can widen the front toe a bit.
& Lastly--->Don`t over drive!!! .......(yet another old saying)-->"""slow in, fast out""",,,, you will find big gains from using the right lines & practising those right lines.
enjoy
