LOL - a mate of mine built a westfield a few years back - in Vic, you guys are NSW so I'm not going to say this is the rule everywhere - the westfield is a new car, and this moke may be registered as a new car as well - for a new car, you don't have to have a windscreen, if you don't have a windscreen you don't need wipers, if you don't have doors, you don't need side intrusion bars, etc. etc.
there are many many loopholes like that - you've just gotta have a creative and enthusiastic engineer....
very true, if you chop up a mini then it is no longer classed as a mini but a new "kit car" and it has to comply with the new standards, so it has to have e.f.i etc. a stupid rule but oh well, flip front builders beware these rules apply to them to!!!
