Yeah theyre theyre the sponsors. Its a massive project, we had to convince people to sponsor us and give us money to put towards the car and build it from scratch.
Its an r6 engine that weve tweaked up a bit, but the regulations demand a restrictor, so it doesnt make as much power as it could. One of the first time someone hasnt asked if its got a rotary. Its a great project and id highly reccommend it to any uni student.

Im in the QUT team. Got to remember the size of the engine as well and the different characteristics they have.

Swinburne Uni. our cars coming along ok... putting it all together at the moment, nothin left to be manufactured....

last year they were making replacement rime the night before the competition because our cast magnesium one cracked .....

on a different note the pipe for the manifold has been bent and i picked that up this morning, so now its just a matter of welding it all together

the inside diameter of the pipe matches the max diameter of my already ported inlet ports.... so it may get that little kick up in the air flow that it will need to remix the mixure again without constricting the flow too much.

I'm keen to know how it goes.
Some thing that could be worth trying......grind a crescent shape out of the
bottom of the manifold ....say about 3mm deep and 10mm long.
Imagine the fuel dribbling down the outside curve just like water runs
slowly up your windscreen in the rain even though you are doing 100kmh.
As this fuel approaches the port it gets whipped in as big globs.
Now we have this little dam that traps the big globs but.......because of the increased turbulence
and the sharp edge of the port, the fuel gets whipped (sheared) up into fine droplets then into the port.
This what I am going to do a 8.5" twin manifold for my 1100.
There is nothing new about this practice.....but the good thing is, it's unlikely to slow the flow and you can do a before and after and measure any difference.

This is what makes engine design/modification so hard yet so interesting..all the conflicts. So much seems counter intuitive....but EAB I believe this could be a worthwhile solution to the problems that Mokesta pionted out...
Powre Lynze http://www.allpar.com/fix/holler/head-porting2.html[/b]
An easier solution could be..... Is to make the manifold a larger diameter than the port so the fuel is sheared off from a little pool that congregates at the join of the head and runner.[/quote]

i love the power lines idea, i may try that as well as grinding that crescent out. will let you know once its all welded up! ... can't wait!
